Leasing entails individuals entering a renewable short-term legal contract for romantic relationships, similar to employment contracts or housing leases (e.g., 3 months, 6 months, 1 year). These contracts would include agreed-upon terms (e.g., exclusivity, boundaries, dealbreakers) and would automatically expire unless both parties mutually agree to renew or upgrade to a long-term arrangement (e.g., marriage or civil partnership).
